Down Syndrome Awareness 5K Saturday
A 5k Run/2 mile Walk along with a Buddy Walk to raise awareness for Down Syndrome will be held Saturday. Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder in which one has an extra copy of the 21st chromosome.
Alex Umble, a senior at Cameron County High School, is hosting this event as his senior project.
“I lost a brother and have a cousin, Levi, with Down Syndrome,” said Alex. Levi may struggle with some things but he is very aware of the world around him. These are the reasons Alex chose this as his Senior Project.
