Two Charged With Welfare Fraud
A husband and wife who reside in Cameron County have been charged with several counts of welfare fraud following an investigation into approximately five years of benefits collection by the pair.
Jamie G. Haynes, age 35, and Scott A. Haynes, age 37, have each been charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of welfare fraud for allegedly receiving nearly $100,000 in SNAP (food stamps), medical assistance (MA) and LIHEAP (Low-Income Heat and Energy Assistance Program) benefits since 2010.
