Two Men Charged With Additional Burglaries

Two men arrested in the Wykoff Run area last year after absconding from parole are being charged in a burglary case stemming from their time in Cameron County.

Elijah Jacob Conser, age 22, of Punxsutawney, and Austin Obrien Eckert, age 23, of York, have been charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass and related misdemeanors for allegedly breaking into camps and stealing several items while hiding out at a nearby camp in Wykoff Run.

The affidavit of probable cause on file at Magisterial District Judge Barry Brown’s office in Emporium indicates that a man who shared a cell with Conser while the two were incarcerated at the Potter County Jail stated a number of items he and Eckert had stolen while holed up in the area had not been discovered by police at the time of their arrest. The witness was able to tell police where to find a number of items, including a 10-point mounted whitetail deer head buried under a pile of newspapers in the camp where they were arrested, a stolen four-wheeler secured to a tree in the forest, and a handgun hidden beneath a nightstand in the bedroom.
