Wandering Aimlessly

Fish, Tannerite and Food Plots

by Phil Burkhouse

Over the summer months the grandsons and I have been doing some fishing and preparing for the upcoming archery season.  The boys got Summit tree stands for Christmas that enable the user to sit while ascending a tree.  This climbing method coupled with safety harnesses makes climbing easier and safer than the old “hug the tree” method of climbing.

The boys are still fishing and are having success on the “big’uns” as is evidenced by their cell phone pictures of their catches.  We spent two weeks of steady toil redoing food plots and planting a variety of clovers, radishes, chicory, and birds foot tree foil.  We completed the plots on August 19th, and the boys are now fishing, playing football, and preparing for archery season.
