Wandering Aimlessly
A January Elk Shoot
by Phil Burkhouse
Most of you who know me are aware my present weapon of choice on my wandering aimlessly adventures is a Canon 70D loaded with digital cards and barreled with an assortment of interchangeable lenses. I love to photograph nature and will shoot anything that is “cool” that I encounter on my wanderings. I enjoy shooting scenery, wildflowers, insects, reptiles, waterfowl, mammals, and song and game birds. Many of my shots are of elk because I enjoy watching these majestic critters and learning their habits.
It, also, is advantageous to a photographer to work with critters that are photo friendly, and probably half of the Pennsylvania elk herd is habituated and photo friendly.
