The 20-Point, 14-Point Doe Hunt

Thursday, October 24th, marked the first day of the three-day special firearms antlerless deer season for junior and senior hunters. Big Jake had arrowed a doe earlier that week with the crossbow, but Little Bear was looking forward to toting his 7MM-08 on a down county doe hunt on opening evening.
I mentioned to Wes the evening before the hunt that if we could have an early morning hunt on Thursday I’d get him to school just a little late. Wes looked at me with horror in his eyes and said, “Oh no, I can’t do that.” It was very apparent Wes had not inherited all of my genes!
