Wandering Aimlessly
A Dino Bird
by Phil Burkhouse
It was the fall of 1966, and I was leafing through the college catalog trying to find a course to fill in an elective slot in my upcoming spring schedule. I was twenty years old, and most of the course listings sounded as appealing as having a vasectomy. Under the biology courses listed my eyeballs focused on a class called “Ornithology”, the study of birds. I had finally found an elective of interest, and I filled it in my elective slot and handed in my schedule of selections, not realizing this was an advanced elective for biology majors only.
