Goatsuckers
Goatsuckers, also referred to as nightjars, are night hunters with a loud, haunting, ethereal song. Legend has it that this nocturnal family of birds can sense a soul departing and capture it as it flees. The goatsucker I have chosen to write about this week is one of my favorite songsters; the whip-poor-will.
