Weather Doesn’t Dampen Drum and Henry Fishing Derby Turnout

The weather was less than perfect for this year’s Drum and Henry Kids Fishing Derby. A rainy day did not stop the many families from attending this annual event.

The Derby celebrated its 62nd year of providing the area youth a fun-filled day of fishing and refreshments. The local Boy Scout Troop was responsible for raising the flag during the opening ceremony.

This year’s event was held in memory of David “Dude” Williams, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 57. Dave was a longtime friend of several people, especially camp owners in the Sizer Run area. Dave was present at many of the Drum and Henry Fishing derbies during his lifetime.
