Wildlife Museum Idea Floated at Meeting

The possibility of establishing a wildlife museum in Cameron County was part of informal discussion at last Thursday’s meeting of the Cameron County Commissioners.

Ken Gerg brought up the matter after commissioners had completed action on routine agenda items.

Gerg asked board members if there had been any movement on the idea.

He noted that in the last year the Benezette area of Elk County had attracted 480,000 visitors to the elk wildlife center and general area last year.

“If we could get 20 percent of those people to come over the mountain to Cameron County it would be a great benefit to our businesses,” said Gerg.
