Completion of a new Senior Center in Driftwood could come a bit ahead of schedule.

Locals will be glad to hear that the current work being done on the new Senior Center in Driftwood could be completed earlier than first anticipated. During last Wednesday’s Cameron County Commissioners’ meeting, Jim Thomas reported construction work is running ahead of schedule and a late September completion is anticipated. Fellow Commissioner, Glen Fiebig, said both he and Thomas had visited the site and attended an informal luncheon with the contractor. It is easy for managers to keep track of construction work with the use of things like the Raken app, which allows for daily reports from all workers. This allows those in charge to keep a close eye on things without having to directly ask different workers each day. Those who don’t use this technology will understand the difficulty of keeping track of things without it and will no doubt recommend using something similar. Keeping track of things day to day allows the work to progress much quicker, hopefully finishing earlier than first hoped, as is the case with this job.
