Youth Wild Game Dinner A Huge Success

The Youth Wild Game Dinner sponsored by Emporium Alliance Church, Cameron County Long Beards Chapter of National Wild Turkey Federation and Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities was a huge success.

The event was focused on providing a fun family atmosphere where both young people and adults could try a wide variety of wild game meats. There were at least 25 different dishes available to try, such as pheasant, wild boar, beaver, elk, bear, venison, squirrel and even crayfish.

“There was a lot of work that went into this project,” commented Don Bickford of CCOYA. “This was our first experience for all of us at coordinating an event such as this. We were very pleased with family participation.”

There were also a large selection of wild game mounts, furs and skulls on display. This was a huge attraction for everyone to see and very educational for the youth. At the end of the evening there were Conservation/hunting videos shown and each young person was provided a knapsack, t-shirt and head lamp.
