‘New Committee Needed for Fireworks’
With the 4th of July fast approaching, it is with regret to say the Cameron County Fireworks Committee will dissolve after this year. With the current changes to the Small Games of Chance laws, it has become too much of a burden to comply with these laws. Donations over the last few years have been less and less, and it is understandable with the current economic condition in the area. Even so, the local merchants have always given what they can, as has the public. Every year we enter the night of the fireworks in the red, hoping to make enough to pay the bills the night of the show.
