Alarming Findings Presented at ‘Straight Talk For Parents’

Last week, approximately 30 community members gathered for an informational meeting called Straight Talk for Parents that discussed the burgeoning problem of substance abuse and addiction in Cameron County.
Though the problem is prevalent in this area, it is becoming a larger issue across the state of Pennsylvania and the entire nation. Designer drugs, the class of chemicals being created in laboratories that have no medical or scientific uses, are being marketed on the internet, often to children, or to addicts of other substances as a legal, or at least undetectable, and easier-to-obtain high.
