Representatives from state government, officials from five counties and several hundred good friends all showed up Friday at the Emporium Borough Fire hall to honor Bruno Carnovale.

Bruno just recently ended a public service spanning 51 years, stepping down as Emporium’s mayor Dec. 31, 2017.

The gathering was officially known as “Bruno Carnovale Day” under a proclamation ordered by new mayor, Justin Zimmer.
