Driftwood Borough To Drill Test Wells on Elk State Forest
The Elk State Forest is managed under an ecosystem wide approach that provides many different uses and values for our visitors and local communities. Some of the management activities, such as a timber harvest or new gas well construction, are easily noticeable and the benefits of these activities can be readily seen.
For example, we can see the new growth and the influx of animals that prefer the younger forest in the harvest area. Or, we know that the gas well is helping to provide home grown energy for us and jobs for the gas industry workers.
