Fishing Etiquette

Last week I read an article called the, “Six Unwritten Rules of Bass Fishing Etiquette.” I really enjoyed the article until I got the sinking suspicion that the author was serious. Then I thought maybe bass fishermen were different than trout fishermen. The more I think about it, the more I believe that most anglers run the spectrum of etiquette in all types of fishing pursuits and styles; while trout anglers are a little unique. Here are a couple of examples.

Bass Rule “No. 1” –  Not Cutting Other Anglers Off. The article stated that, “If you’re trying to justify it in your mind, you’re probably cutting someone off.”  I don’t know about you but I’ve seen a lot of cutting off coupled with long stretches to justify it in minds; so much so that I suspect there is a doctorate program out there in it. I don’t think bass anglers are any different.
