Job Numbers Lagging Due To Shutdown

 

 

Unemployment, wage and other statistics compiled by the Bureau of Labor and Industry are delayed for the months of September and October due to the 60-day federal government shutdown beginning October 1.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s website, “Due to the federal government shutdown that took place October 1-16, the September 2013 state and local news releases have been postponed indefinitely. At this time, it is unknown when, or if, state and local preliminary jobs, labor force and unemployment statistics data for the month of September will be produced or published.”
