The Department of Labor and Industry has released Pennsylvania’s county unemployment numbers for December 2017, showing that Cameron County reported a rate of 6.4%, remaining flat from the previous month.

Over the fourth quarter, the unemployment rate dropped 0.2% from its calculated October rate of 6.6%.

Employment is now considered nearly full across the United States, which had an overall rate of 4.1% in December. Across Pennsylvania, the rate was 4.7%. In Cameron County, between 100 and 200 people are unemployed but looking for work. In December of 2016, Cameron County’s unemployment rate was still at 8.1%.
