Judicial Tax Sale Results Finalized

The results of this year’s Judicial Tax Sale have been released following final approval by Judge Richard Masson. The sale was confirmed by Masson as of August 18.
The judicial sale collected $97,835.75 that will be divided and distributed to the county, school district and the municipalities where the sold properties are located. The school district will receive $54,270.26; the county $34,296.70; Emporium Borough $4,395.67; Shippen Township $4,698.37 and Portage Township $147.75. Filing and other fees were deducted prior to the disbursement of these funds so that no taxpayer dollars were used during the proceedings.
