Local Veterans Place Flags On Fallen Soldiers’ Graves
May 25, 2015 is Memorial Day. This past Saturday and for several days afterward, the veterans of VFW Post 6221 and Cameron County Memorial Detail, along with the American Legion has visited 33 cemeteries throughout Cameron County replacing or adding new flags to 1,375 graves of fallen comrades in preparation for this special day. The grave sites range from Revolutionary War veterans to soldiers of modern day warfare. It is our duty and our privilege to honor these men and women by doing this small task in their memory.
