National Fuel Supply Charges To Increase

National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation (National Fuel) has submitted to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission its annual adjustment to gas supply charges. This adjustment raises the monthly bill of a typical residential customer using 90,000 cubic feet of gas annually by $1.39, from $57.49 to $58.88. This 2.4 percent increase is to become effective Aug. 1, 2015.

The main driver of the adjustment is reduced refunds associated with pipeline capacity. Low market prices for natural gas are continuing due in large part to the increasing production of Marcellus Shale gas. Nearly all of the gas consumed by National Fuel utility customers comes from Northeast-produced shale gas.
