Rotarian Bonnie Smith introduced guest speaker, Bill Floyd, Investigator/Coordinator of Mountaineer Search and Rescue at the Rotary luncheon July 26th.
Bill has been involved with the organization for 25 years and seen many changes over time. They have approximately 20 members, but only eight to 10 are active.
The organization is self- supporting, but through the help of Kevin Johnson and his grant writing skills, they have received funding to purchase various equipment and have upgraded their radio system. Currently, they are looking to purchase inferred censors so that people can be found in the dark.
