Siple Named Chief of Police

Emporium Borough Council voted to offer the job of Chief of Police to Sergeant Matt Siple, currently serving as Officer-In-Charge of the Borough Police Department since the resignation of former Chief John Lovett.

Vice President Luann Reed was the lone dissenting vote in giving Siple the nod over the other two applicants. Council members stated that the decision will be made official after Siple accepts the position and negotiations are completed. Siple attended the meeting and told the Echo he intends to take the job.
