Thompson Visits Area, Hears Residents’ Flood Insurance Worries

United States Representative Glenn Thompson (R-PA) visited Emporium as part of a tour across Pennsylvania’s Fifth District to announce his re-election campaign on Wednesday, though conversation quickly turned to the rising premiums for flood insurance and the effects on residents.

Constituents were given a chance to ask Thompson questions, inquiring about a wide variety of topics including extension of unemployment compensation insurance, job training and defense, but the most passionately-spoken were those concerned over their flood insurance costs.
