Two Races, 4,000 Miles By Canoe

Twenty-five (25) General Clinton 70 Mile Marathons from Cooperstown, NY to Bainbridge, NY on the Susquehanna River and twenty-five (25) Adirondack canoe Classics – 90 miles from Old Forge, NY to Saranac Lake, NY, a combined total of 4,000 miles and 637 hours of paddling. At 68 paddle strokes per minute or 4,080 per hour, that is 2.6 million paddle strokes. Were they counted? No, but after paddling approximately 17,000 miles, these are the numbers that continue to repeat.
