New Director Takes Over Senior Center

    Kelly (Bennett) Spencer has been designated Director of the Emporium Senior Center. The former director, Stephanie (Roberto) Loveland, after about five years at the helm, has been promoted to the position of Option Care Manager/Assessor with the Area Agency on Aging/Office of Human Services, in Ridgway.

    Bingo will be held at the Emporium Senior Center on April 10th. Food will be available. We will also give each person a free bingo card for every can of food you provide for either the local Food Bank or for the SPCA.  

Austin School Recognized As Top Performer

Spaghetti Benefit Dinner

      A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit will be held Saturday, April 9th at the Emporium Firehall from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $2.00 per person for spaghetti and meatballs, salad, Italian bread, dessert and drink. The dinner is a fund-raiser to benefit a church in Mesbilja, Mexico.

Rec Center Office Closed

    The Cameron County Recreation office will be closed now through March 18th for staff vacation.  The office will reopen Monday, March 21st at 8 a.m.   The Game Room will remain open regular hours.

Borough Council Develops Nuisance Vehicles Procedures

    Procedures have been developed by employees of the Emporium Borough concerning nuisance vehicles scattered throughout town. Borough Police Chief Dave Merritt presented a copy of the letter that will be sent to the vehicle and property owners that was developed through cooperation between the borough manager, police department and solicitor.
